Making Strides to Strengthen Our Communities

Our teams are active in their communities in several creative ways. From sponsoring events, volunteering or simply showing up to support others—it’s all part of the fun of working for a company that encourages us to demonstrate our brand in action and give back to the communities where we live and work. In the Fall of 2024, several teams ‘went the extra mile’ for some truly inspiring causes. Here are recent examples:

Peddling for a purpose in Sacramento

We geared up to protect children by renewing as the title sponsor of the Sac Century Challenge. Hosted by the Rotary Club of Sacramento, this premier cycling event benefits the Sacramento Children’s Home Crisis Nursery. A group of us biked the course, others hosted an informational booth at the finish line. It was a day of sweat, smiles and the joy of knowing we were helping make a difference for children and families in crisis.

Stepping up for health in Seattle

A large group of employees and their families laced up their walking shoes for the 2024 Pacific Northwest Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Championed by Chief Credit Officer Jill Rice, we’ve been sponsoring this event for more than a decade. “We walk in solidarity with those affected by Alzheimer’s, and to help find a cure,” Rice said.

Going the distance for families in Spokane

We teamed up at the Boulevard Race to raise funds for the Community Cancer Fund. This important cause supports cancer patients and their families throughout the region. In addition to sponsoring the race, a group of employees created a “cheer zone” at the half-mile mark, to greet every participant and encourage them on.

These events are just a few of the many ways we are enthusiastically involved in our communities to do our part to make them stronger, healthier and connected.
