Banner Bank has presented Boise-Glenwood Branch Manager, Leslie Yoest with the 2009 1st Quarter award for “Doing the Right Thing” as a result of her involvement with the Genesis World Mission.
Genesis World Mission is a non-denominational Christian organization working to meet the physical, medical and spiritual needs of the less fortunate, both globally and locally. The organization focuses on helping the medically uninsured, and as a single mother with young children, Leslie understood the struggle to meet rising health care costs. She has been actively involved since her mother introduced her to the organization. Throughout the holiday season, Leslie, with assistance and donations from Banner Bank coworkers, created “goody bags” of personal hygiene products that were given to patients at the Genesis World Mission clinic.
“I am honored to receive recognition for my involvement with the Genesis World Mission.” said Leslie. “For individuals and family to not seek medical treatment because they have to choose between that and food on the table is heartbreaking. The organization gives so many the opportunity for treatment that otherwise would not exist.”
In recognition of Leslie’s community involvement, Banner Bank has presented her with a plaque, a day off with pay and a $1,000 donation to the charity of her choice. Leslie has chosen to give her donation to the Garden City Community Clinic.
